PROJECT HOLMESTERNE FOODS

Holmesterne Foods is a leading food manufacturing company based in Yorkshire that produces a range of both raw and cooked meats, vegetables and ingredients for prepared meals. With three large buildings operating refrigerators and machinery 24/7, Holmesterne Foods approached SAS ENERGY as they were looking for a renewable resource that would generate electricity for use on site and reduce their substantial energy bills.

After careful due diligence, SAS ENERGY designed solar PV systems that would be split across 3 sites. Each system was designed to maximize system output by installing large arrays of solar PV across the full available roof area.

SAS ENERGY proposed 2 X 49.9kWp and 1 X 28.34kWp solar PV systems as it provided maximum benefits for Holmsterne Foods.

The three solar systems combined made up just under 130kWp generating on average 112,603 kWh of free electricity and offsetting approximately 58 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions per annum.
